Make Barcelona’s Modernist route this summer is cheaper thanks to an initiative of the Ajuntament de Barcelona (Barcelona’s Council). The campaign, called “Inspira tu verano” (“Inspire your summer”) seeks, in this crisis moment, providing access to 19 modernist monuments of Barcelona city, such as Casa Batlló, La Pedrera, Palau de la Música Catalana, Casa Lleó i Morera, and the Palau Güell, among others.
In the streets, in the landscape of the city you can follow the route with the aid of red tiles embedded in the pavement that mark the path of the main axes route and pass in front of modernist places and monuments.
More than 115 landmarks showing that Modernism took root strongly in Barcelona and today is still a living art, as you can read on the website of the campaign.
The Barcelona Modernisme Route is a collaborative project led by the City Council, which includes all public and private entities directly related to the city’s modernist heritage.
This initiative also allows discounted access to activities related to Modernism, such as “Gaudi Experience“, which now can be enjoyed for 4.50 €. Gaudi Experience is a new way to meet Gaudí and his work. One activity that offers a journey through the creative genius of modernist architecture, Antoni Gaudi, interactively and 4D technology, suitable for adults and children.
This year, as new, you can also visit Bellesguard Tower (a work of Gaudí). Last year you could not even visit because it was not open.
