It’s July and the Cruïlla Barcelona Festival is coming soon! Specifically, the festival will take place at the Forum on 11, 12 and July 13.
Cruïlla Festival began in Mataró (a small town near Barcelona) in 2008. Due to its success and growth, it was moved to Barcelona a few years later. Last year (2013) it hosted 31,000 attendees.
The name of the Festival (Cruïlla) which in Catalan means “crossroads” is due to the heterogeneity of their music. This festival tries to convey that this is more than a crossroads: it is a meeting of musical styles.
But Cruïlla Festival of Barcelona is also more than music. In this festival there are also spaces where activities such as games, human towers, presence of NGOs (Amnesty International, Som Energia, Triodos Bank, …), dining areas, etc.
One of the features of Cruïlla is the importance of the public in the organization of the festival. In fact, you are invited to suggest artists before the cartel closes. You can also review and evaluate the festival for improvement in future editions.
