La Traviata comes back to Barcelona

Verdi’s La Traviata returns to the most famous theater in Barcelona from 8 to 18 July 2015.

La Traviata is an opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi, based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas (son) The Lady of the Camellias (1852), though not directly but through a stage adaptation. Originally titled as Violetta, the main character in the play.

The opera La Traviata noted for its realistic approach: the story of Violetta, the protagonist, on his deathbed, as a flashback recalling her life as a courtesan.

For those who go to see it the first day, it is noteworthy that the first show will commemorate the 15th anniversary of the rebuilding of the Liceu, after last fire .

La Traviata will have a double cast of singers, among which Mosuc Patricia Ciofi and Elena, in the role of Violetta; Charles Castronovo and Leonardo Capalbo, in the role of Alfredo; and Vladimir Stoyanov and Angel Òdena, in the role of Giorgio Germont, among others.
