On many occasions we have told you that in Barcelona, public transport is the best option to move – although never stop walking to enjoy the city – and now with the new Barcelona Smart Moving initiative you will not miss any Corner of Barcelona.
Barcelona Smart Moving services includes tourist bus transportation (daytime and night, only available in summer under the name of Barcelona Night Tour Bus ), the Montjuïc cable car which will allow us to climb to the foot of the castle that guards Barcelona – The payment for days Hola BCN and the Catalunya Bus Turístic , which will allow us to discover incredible places beyond the city, such as Montserrat .
One day enjoying the Turístic Bus thanks to Barcelona Smart Moving
As we always tried everything we wrote on the blog, we did not want to miss the opportunity to experience the Turístic Bus in the first person.
The Barcelona Bus Turístic allows us to discover the most emblematic places, monuments and attractions of our city. From the Sagrada Família, Parc Güell, La Pedrera, Camp Nou, or Las Ramblas, to Montjuïc, Casa Milà, Torre de les Punxes, among others.
It is a great means of transport since you can get on and off the Barcelona Tourist Bus as many times as you wish, either on the same route or changing buses at the connecting points between the three routes. That will allow you to go down to take photos, visits or, of course! To eat and replenish strength.
There are two different main lines (red and blue) and its complete route takes approximately 2 hours. There is a secondary route, the green one, which only runs from March to November, runs the beaches of Barcelona, and lasts 40 minutes.
In our experience with the tourist bus started taking the Red Lñinea at Estacio de Sants, we walk in the top of the bus by Sants, Montjuïc, Columbus, Port Vell and Port Marítim; Then the bus changed its route and began to climb to the heart of Barcelona, where we stop at Plaça Catalunya to eat.
After filling the stomach, change Line to catch this time the Blue and make all the Modernista route, heading the Passeig de Gràcia first, enjoying the Casa Batlló, Lleó i Morera, Casa Mila … Then we saw the newly opened to the public House Les Punxes, the Sagrada Família , the bohemian district of Gràcia and Park Güell, discovering some of its curiosities such as why ParK Güell is written with “K” final.
The journey continued placidly through the upper part of the city, home to Tramvia Blau and the thousand and one mysteries novels Zafón and continue down until you reach the Camp Nou and the always impressive Diagonal, where we end our route.
We can certainly say that the tourist bus, with its combination of tickets for 1 or 2 days depending on the needs of each person, is a very practical way to see the city at your own pace while lets you stop worrying about transportation.
And you, have not you tried it yet? Both the Bus Turístic and the rest of Barcelona Smart Moving activities will enrich your experience in the city. Do not miss it!
